Do I have to study the Certificate III or Certificate IV before enrolling in the Diploma?

Although there is no entry requirement that requires the completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV to be completed prior to enrolling in the Diploma of Community Services, it is highly recommended that you do.

The Diploma of Community Services following the completion of the Certificate III in Individual Support and/or Certificate IV, allows students to build on the skills and knowledge attained during these qualifications, to advance their current career.

That means students who wish to enter the community services industry and strive for a more senior or managerial role can enrol directly in the Diploma.

To complete your course students must undertake work placement. Prior to your work placement we will develop your skills and knowledge in preparing you for your work placement.

Study, Assessment Methods and Facilities

This course is delivered face-to-face (supported by Academia’s online Learning Management System), through a combination of tutorials and computer lab workshops and includes a mandatory work placement. Prior to your work placement students must attain (with our support) and police check and working with children check.
You will be assessed through written tests, presentations, projects, assignments, research and work-placement assessment.
Equipment includes: Industry specific practical equipment, Microsoft Office 365, Client Server and student PCs, Printed and on line Resources. Spacious classrooms, free internet access.
