This course provides you with specialised skills in community services while working autonomously under broad directions from senior management.

Our course delivery combines both theory and practical experience through work placement of up to 6 months in industry, class room study and online study. We want you to finish job ready to maximise your employment potential and the best way to do this is through Industry work placement.

Our experienced trainers will guide you through researching and debating social and community issues facing our community today, and train you with the skills to support clients with their emotional, social, psychological needs.

Do I have to study the Certificate III before enrolling in the Diploma?

Students may choose to enrol in the Diploma of Community Services following their completion of the Certificate III, particularly if they want to build their skillset or advance their current career.

In the past, students were required to complete the Certificate III before enrolling in the Diploma, however this requirement has been changed by ACECQA.

That means students who wish to enter the community services industry and strive for a more senior or managerial role can enrol directly in the Diploma.

To complete your course students must undertake work placement. Prior to your work placement we will develop your skills and knowledge in preparing you for your work placement.

Further still you will be assisted to find suitable placement by our experienced trainers.

This course is delivered face-to-face (supported by Academia’s online Learning Management System), through a combination of tutorials and computer lab workshops and includes a mandatory work placement. Prior to your work placement students must attain (with our support) and police check and working with children check.
  2. You will be assessed through written tests, presentations, projects, assignments, research and work-placement assessment.
  3. Equipment includes: Industry specific practical equipment, Microsoft Office 365, Client Server and student PCs, Printed and on line Resources. Spacious classrooms, free internet access.
