CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support


This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisation guidelines and service plans.

Students will carry out activities related to maintaining an individual’s well being through personal care and /or other activities for living and may provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people. Work may include training and support to promote independence and community participation, which may be provided as part of activities and programs in a variety of settings including residential and Centre-based programs. Students will report to service managers and liaise with professionals and other service providers, but may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.

  1. Classes operate 2.5 days per week (Tutorial over the 0.5 and lectures in the 2 days per week averaging 20 hours per week)

Study, Assessment Methods and Facilities

  1. The Certificate IV in Ageing Support will combine classroom training with on the job training by our highly qualified training staff. Students will be able to put into practice skills that they have learnt in classroom through placement at a registered Aged Care Facility. Excursions to Aged Care facilities, Trainer demonstrations on specific areas of Aged Care and guest speakers will enhance the learning experience. Resources and equipment used to train Students will be to industry standards.
  2. This course is delivered face-to-face, through a combination of tutorials and workshops. You will be assessed through written tests, assignments and work placements.
