Introduction

SHB50216 Diploma of Salon Management reflects the role of senior managers and small business owners of personal services businesses. They are responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operation of the business and for planning, monitoring and evaluating the work of the team. Salon managers also operate with significant autonomy to make strategic business management decisions.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a salon manager in any type of personal service business including hairdressing or beauty salons, barber shops and spas.

The course includes 30 weeks of on-campus training and then a 10 week internship in a Salon. Students can find their own placement through their part time work and own industry contacts during the first 30 weeks of their course. Alternatively Academia is happy to support students in finding an internship provider.

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in the role of a Salon Manager or Small Business Salon owner whom works relatively autonomously, whilst coordinating and supervising Salon staff.

This course is delivered face-to-face, through a combination of tutorials and hairdressing lab workshops. You will be assessed through written tests, hairdressing-based tasks, and assignments Equipment includes: Fully Equipped Hairdressing Salons, Training Salon, Printed and on line Resources.
