CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support

Introduction

This qualification will enable you to work primarily in residential aged care facilities under direct supervision within organisational guidelines and service plans. You will learn to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people in an aged care setting.

  1. Classes operate 2.5 days per week (averaging 20 hours per week)
  2. Our Certificate III in Individual Support course is over a duration of 6 months inclusive of work placement and term break
  3. Academia provides a simulated Aged Care lab offering hands on training averaging 2-3 hours per day
  4. Learning is delivered face to face which offers greater skills transfer than online training
  5. Practical placement organized by Academia 150 hours volunteer compulsory (subject to police check clearance)

Study, Assessment Methods and Facilities

  1. The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) will combine classroom training with on the job training by our highly qualified training staff. Students will be able to put into practice skills that they have learnt in classroom through placement at a registered Aged Care Facility. Excursions to Aged Care facilities, Trainer demonstrations on specific areas of Aged Care and guest speakers will enhance the learning experience. Resources and equipment used to train Students will be to industry standards.
  2. This course is delivered face-to-face, through a combination of tutorials and workshops. You will be assessed through written tests, assignments and work placements.
