International Student Visas

When a student enters Australia for the purpose of study, the student will be allowed to have a student Visa under certain conditions set out by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). These conditions take into account various factors including your level of English language proficiency, your academic record, your passport and the specific country that you are applying from.

Will I be allowed to study in Australia?

You provide a Letter of Offer from us, to DIAC ( DIAC website: http://www.immi.gov.au/ ) by enrolling in one of our courses.

A non refundable enrolment fee of $150 is required upon registration.

Please select your Country below for more details.

Assessment Levels:

International Students have different entry level requirements depending on your passport and country of origin.

Your application for a student Visa will be assessed according to your assessment level. Your Assessment Level ( 1 to 5 ) is determined by the passport that you hold and the education sector of your principle course of study.

Passport Country Selection:

For your Assessment Level, please pick the country matching your passport:

You can find your Visa Number in the top left-hand corner of your Australian Visa, see image below:

Applying for a student visa ( detailed description of the process ):

If you intend to study for 3 months or more, you will need to apply for a student visa. You must enrol for full-time study and pay compulsory medical insurance ( OSHC ). Students with a country assessment level 3 or 4 ( refer above in the "Select your Country" menu under "Passport Country Selection") you will need to obtain a Pre-Visa Assessment ( PVA ) before confirmation of enrolment. After arrival, student visa holders can apply for work permission from the Immigration Department in Melbourne. Note student visa holders can work up to 20 hours a week.

Note:

More information and the most updated visa application requirements about Australia's student visa program including applying for a student visa can be found by visiting http://www.immi.gov.au/study/index.htm.

Student visas are usually granted for the period of study only. If you wish to extend that visa, you must do so prior to its expiry.

Please ensure that you are fully aware of the conditions attached to your visa as you must comply with these whilst studying in Australia. Academia International can assist you through this process. Please contact us if you need further assistance.
